fun fun

So last night (using that tutorial I linked to) I started learning GTK/Perl stuff. I actually made decent progress on my first goal of writing an MP3 player that works how I want it to. Currently it sets up most of the GUI, and picks 20 random songs and their info out of the db. Not bad for a couple hours last night.

GTK/Perl

Right now I'm working on getting proficient in writing Perl apps with GTK frontends. Stephen Wilhelm's Gtk-Perl Tutorial is a huge help. It's hard to find good GTK/Perl documentation, and Stephen does a great job of going through each object type with the assumption that you know nothing of how GTK works.

stupid cable

This is why I hate cable modems:

I've tried this against a bunch of sites, and both from the proxy machine and mine, and they all act like this.

Gar.

underneath eWorld

I've always been disappointed by how plain and boring my site looks from the outside. I mean, it's easy for me to talk about how cool the stuff I'm playing with is, but I think it's hard for anyone on the outside to really see what goes on under this little outer shell. eCam is back.

I've got one camera back up and running. Enjoy. At least it's the good camera... And, please, nothing about the hair.
